16-Year-Old Accused Of Bringing Loaded Handgun Into MA Convenience Store, Police Say

Officers in Berkshire County saw a teen wearing a black ski mask enter a convenience store on Francis Avenue in Pittsfield at about 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, according to the Pittsfield Police Department.

The teen appeared to be carrying a handgun in his waistband, police said.

Officers arrested the teen and removed a .40 caliber handgun loaded with fifteen rounds of hollow-point ammunition from his possession, authorities said. 

The suspect, who is a resident of Pittsfield, was arrested and charged with carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, and other firearm charges, Pittsfield Police reported. 

Police said the boy was also in possession of more than $3,500 at the time of his arrest.

He is set to be arraigned in Berkshire Juvenile Court, police reported.
